The Midland Societies for the Blind is a partnership of six registered charities all operating in the West Midlands. The members are:

  • Birmingham Royal Institution for the Blind
  • The Burton on Trent Blind Committee
  • Shropshire Voluntary Association for the Blind
  • Walsall Society for the Blind
  • Warwickshire Association for the Blind
  • Worcestershire Association for the Blind

The members provide a wide range of services for visually impaired people living in their area including:

  • Specialised accommodation and residential care
  • Rehabilitation services
  • Education and training for visually impaired students aged 16+
  • Grants to provide specialist aids and equipment
  • Social and community services including home visiting
  • Telephone help lines
  • Information resources
  • Advice and training in all areas of sensory loss and disability.

The aim of organisations is to enable blind people to lead their lives to the maximum potential, improve quality of life and encouraging independence whilst reducing social isolation.
